Katie Poggensee
Katherine (Katie) Poggensee is a biomechanist and roboticist.
During her doctoral studies, she focused on the co-adaptation between humans and exoskeletons. Her research delved into two aspects: first, the development of algorithms to optimize the interaction between humans and exoskeletons, and second, the creation of protocols to help individuals adapt to using these robotic systems effectively. In her first postdoctoral position with the Delft Biorobotics Lab, she studied the efficacy of a gyroscopic backpack to assist balance in healthy and patient populations.
Her work expands upon these ideas to combine VR and wearable robotic devices to investigate methods to facilitate balance assistance. More information about her research can be found here: https://doi.org/10.3030/101106071.
